BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
In honor of Dolly Parton’s memory, I have ordered, under the authority granted to me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, that the American flag be flown at half-staff. This directive applies to the White House, all public buildings and grounds, military posts, naval stations, and federal naval vessels within the District of Columbia, throughout the United States, and its territories and possessions. This order is effective until sunset on September 1, 2026. Additionally, I instruct that flags at all U.S. embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including military facilities and naval stations, be flown at half-staff for the same duration.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand this twenty-fifth day of August in the year two thousand twenty-six, marking the two hundred and fifty-first year of American independence.
