TMZ reports that Dolly Parton was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville on Thursday due to “kidney and autoimmune issues.” She is said to have passed away on Tuesday morning, with her family announcing the sad news later that day.
Although the family did not specify the exact cause of death in their announcement, Seaver emphasized a commitment to preserving her legacy.
In a video statement, he addressed fans, saying, “I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today, announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, known as Sister, Sis, and Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next. This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully understood its future significance. Having served as her head of security for over twenty years, a position my father Larry held before me, I had contemplated this moment’s weight but never truly felt it until now.”
He further expressed, “It is an honor, an honor filled with immense pride and profound sadness. Yet, the sadness is ours, not Dolly’s. She lived in the light and is now embraced by Jesus, undoubtedly reunited with Carl, her parents, and many others who have watched her and eagerly awaited her arrival in the heavens.”
