The HI New York City Hostel has been flooded with negative reviews after cooperating with police in the investigation of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder. Some reviewers have called the hostel workers “narcs” for their cooperation with law enforcement.
The suspect in Thompson’s murder stayed at the hostel and reportedly smiled and flirted with a receptionist while checking in. He used a fake ID from New Jersey and paid in cash before carrying out the chilling attack outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown.
One reviewer sarcastically praised the hostel for accepting a fake ID, while another commended its proximity to healthcare conferences. However, many reviewers expressed anger at the staff for cooperating with police and labeled them as “narcs.”
In response to the backlash, hostel representatives stated that they are fully cooperating with the NYPD as the manhunt for the suspect continues. A flyer has been posted in the hostel notifying guests about the ongoing investigation and the cooperation with authorities.
The NYPD is still investigating the targeted attack on Brian Thompson, who was gunned down outside the Hilton hotel. The methodical killer used a firearm with a silencer and fired multiple shots at Thompson before fleeing the scene. Thompson’s wife mentioned that he had been receiving threats prior to his death.
As the investigation unfolds, the HI New York City Hostel remains under scrutiny for its involvement in the case. The situation has sparked a wave of negative reviews and backlash from some guests, highlighting the challenges faced by businesses caught up in high-profile criminal investigations.
