Exciting Changes Coming to Chicago Fire Season 14
Chicago Fire is gearing up for season 14 with some major cast changes, but fans can expect to see familiar faces making a return, at least for a limited time.
Actor Daniel Kyri, best known for his role as Darren Ritter on the NBC firefighter drama, recently shared a selfie from set on Instagram, hinting at his comeback with the caption, “Back! For a limited time only.” In the photo, Kyri is joined by co-stars Jocelyn Hudon and Hanako Greensmith. He also posted a behind the scenes look with David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, Miranda Rae Mayo, and newcomer Brandon Larracuente.
Despite not being a series regular for season 14, Kyri’s return brings excitement to fans who have grown to love his character. Another actor, Jake Lockett, who portrays Sam Carver, will also not be returning full-time after joining the show in 2022.
In April, Lockett expressed gratitude for his time on the show in an Instagram post, acknowledging the changes ahead. Showrunner Andrea Newman teased a season of onscreen shake-ups and turnover, hinting at hellos and goodbyes within the CFD.
According to Newman, the upcoming season will feature a lot of craziness within the Chicago Fire Department, with characters being cut and moved around. She emphasized that no one is safe in this shakeup, setting the stage for a season filled with drama and unexpected twists.
Despite the cast changes, NBC’s president of program planning, Jeff Bader, remains confident in the success of the One Chicago franchise. He addressed the revolving door of cast members in the Chicago shows, emphasizing that changes are a natural part of the industry.
Bader expressed his excitement for the upcoming season and the continued success of the One Chicago universe, reassuring fans that there are no plans to alter the Wednesday night lineup. Fans can mark their calendars for the return of One Chicago on Wednesday, October 1.
As the countdown to season 14 begins, viewers can expect a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises as the beloved characters navigate the challenges of firefighting and life in the Windy City.
