The latest offering from Huawei includes the highly anticipated Huawei Watch 5, which has been unveiled as the flagship smartwatch from the tech giant. Alongside the Watch 5, Huawei also introduced the more budget-friendly Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro activity trackers, which also double up as smartwatch hybrids.
The Huawei Watch 5 comes in two different sizes to cater to a wider audience, with optional titanium casing available for those looking for a more premium finish. One of the standout features of the Watch 5 is the new âX-Tapâ sensor, which is a combination of pressure, ECG, and PPG sensors. This sensor promises more accurate health tracking, including the ability to take blood oxygen readings from your finger.
In terms of design, the Watch 5 offers a sleek and modern look with different color options available for both the 42mm and 46mm models. The display features the latest LTPO technology with a curvier sapphire glass for added protection against scratches. The Watch 5 runs on Huaweiâs HarmonyOS and offers eSIM support for a more seamless experience.
For fitness enthusiasts, the Watch 5 boasts over 100 sports modes with improved GPS tracking for water sports. The inclusion of dual-band GPS enhances outdoor tracking accuracy, especially in challenging environments. Battery life on the Watch 5 varies depending on the model size, with the 46mm version offering up to 4.5 days of typical usage.
In addition to the Watch 5, Huawei also unveiled the Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro activity trackers, which are aimed at users looking for a more budget-friendly option. The Fit 4 series features built-in GPS, air pressure sensors, and enhanced GPS tracking for water sports. The Pro model offers additional features such as an ECG sensor, richer stress insights, and enhanced mapping navigation support for activities like trail running.
Both the Watch 5 and Fit 4 series run on HarmonyOS, giving users access to the AppGallery storefront and other smart features such as a built-in music player and AI voice assistant. The Fit series offers up to 7 days of battery life in regular use and 10 days in battery saver mode.
The Huawei Watch 5 is now available for purchase in the UK, with prices starting at ÂŁ399 and going up to ÂŁ599 depending on the model size and case material.
