Samsung has made a big announcement regarding updates to its Health platform, promising new AI features for the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring. This exciting news was unveiled during Samsung’s CES 2025 keynote, where the tech giant outlined its plans to enhance the user experience of its wearables through the integration of artificial intelligence.

Hon Pak, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health, provided insight into the upcoming Health update. The company aims to leverage AI technology to create a comprehensive health experience, making it easier for users to develop healthier habits and identify potential health issues. One of the key enhancements involves utilizing sleep data collected by Samsung’s smartwatches and smart ring to improve sleep quality.

For example, if a user is having trouble sleeping due to excessive room temperature, Health will be able to connect to Samsung’s SmartThings smart home platform to adjust the thermostat accordingly. This innovative approach demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance users’ overall well-being.

In addition to improving sleep quality, Samsung Health will also integrate with the company’s Food app to provide personalized recipe recommendations based on users’ dietary preferences and goals. Users can expect to receive AI-generated summaries of their nutrition trends to gain insights into their dietary habits.

Furthermore, Samsung has collaborated with Dexcom, a leading glucose monitoring device manufacturer, to enhance integration with Samsung Health. The company has also partnered with other health tech brands such as Withings, Beurer, Renpho, Core, and Technogym to provide users with a seamless health monitoring experience.

Looking ahead, Samsung is rumored to be working on a Symptom Radar feature, similar to Oura’s Symptom Radar introduced for its smart ring. This innovative tool is expected to improve health monitoring capabilities and provide users with valuable insights into their well-being.

While the exact rollout date for the Health app update remains uncertain, users can anticipate its release later this year. This update will undoubtedly enhance the capabilities of current Samsung smartwatches and smart rings, setting the stage for future innovations such as the rumored Galaxy Ring 2 or Galaxy Watch 8.

CES 2025 has been a showcase for smart ring innovations, with announcements for products like the Circular Ring 2, Ultrahuman Rare, EvieAI, and Lunar Ring Gen 2. Samsung’s commitment to integrating AI technology into its wearables underscores the company’s dedication to improving users’ health and well-being through innovative solutions.
