Colorado Bureau of Investigation Confirms Hunter S. Thompson’s Death as Suicide
After almost six months of review, Colorado Bureau of Investigation officials have confirmed that renowned author and journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s death in 2005 was a result of suicide. This confirmation comes after the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office requested a review of the case.
The investigation was initiated following concerns raised by Thompson’s widow, Anita Thompson, regarding her late husband’s death at their home, Owl Farm, in Woody Creek on Feb. 20, 2005.
