A shocking and tragic incident unfolded in Ridgeway, Virginia, when 30-year-old Joshua Coleman allegedly confessed to the murder of his 22-year-old wife, Mandy Coleman. The heartbreaking events took place during a heated argument where Joshua accused Mandy of infidelity and fatally shot her in the head inside their home.
But the horror did not end there. Determined to avoid facing the consequences of his actions, Joshua set out to find another victim. He targeted 68-year-old William Morey, claiming that he knew he was going to jail anyway. The reasons behind his decision to murder Morey remain unclear.
After a frantic search, Joshua found Morey outside his own home while he was on his way to check on Mandy. He mercilessly shot Morey dead, leaving a trail of tragedy in his wake. The discovery of Morey’s lifeless body in the street led authorities to Mandy’s body inside the Coleman residence.
Following the heinous crimes, Joshua Coleman was identified as the prime suspect by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Concerns for the safety of the Colemans’ two young children prompted a swift and coordinated effort to locate them and apprehend Joshua.
Ultimately, Joshua was apprehended during a traffic stop. He was armed with a handgun and an AR-15 rifle at the time of his arrest. Fortunately, the children were found unharmed inside the vehicle. In a chilling confession, Joshua admitted to shooting his wife and implicated himself in Morey’s murder.
Joshua Coleman now faces charges of two counts of first-degree murder as well as child abuse. He is currently held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center. The tragic events have left two families shattered and the community in shock.
Sheriff Wayne Davis expressed his condolences to the victims’ loved ones, acknowledging the profound impact of the heartbreaking situation on everyone involved.
