Husband Charged with Brutal Murder of Wife in Kentucky
A shocking incident unfolded in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, where a husband has been accused of brutally clubbing his wife to death with a wooden plank. The gruesome crime left the victim, Bonnie Chesher, unrecognizable, according to police reports.
The harrowing discovery was made after authorities responded to a 911 call and found Richard Chesher, 67, covered in blood at the entrance of his garage. His wife’s lifeless body lay nearby, wrapped in a garden hose which was apparently used to drag her from the house to the garage. Chesher was allegedly attempting to load her into the back of his truck at the time of the police’s arrival.
Authorities discovered a blood-soaked wooden plank inside the house, believed to be the murder weapon. Bonnie had sustained severe injuries to her face and head, rendering her unrecognizable according to court documents.
Chesher, who was taken into custody without incident, was charged with domestic-violence murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. A judge set his bond at $1 million and entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 17.
Neighbors expressed shock at the tragic turn of events, with one individual telling WDRB that there were no visible signs of trouble between the couple. “You think you know someone kind of and then you see something on the news. It’s just eye-opening what people’s true colors are,” the neighbor remarked.
