Novak Djokovic has responded to his former coach Goran Ivanisevic’s comments about being the favorite at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, where Ivanisevic claimed Djokovic was “untouchable” over top seeds Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Despite acknowledging his good form, Djokovic made it clear that he doesn’t consider himself the favorite in the competition.

During a press conference after his fourth-round win over Alex de Minaur, Djokovic expressed his disagreement with Ivanisevic’s remarks. He stated that he doesn’t see himself as the favorite against Sinner and Alcaraz at the moment, although he believes he has a good chance to win. Djokovic emphasized his confidence on the grass surface and his motivation to go all the way in the tournament.

Djokovic and Ivanisevic parted ways in March 2024 after a successful partnership that saw Djokovic win several Grand Slam titles. Ivanisevic is currently working with Stefanos Tsitsipas after a brief stint with Elena Rybakina.

In the upcoming quarterfinal match at Wimbledon, Djokovic is set to face Flavio Cobolli, who recently defeated Marin Cilic in a tough battle. Djokovic is eyeing a record-equaling eighth Wimbledon title to match Roger Federer and is also aiming for his 25th Grand Slam title to surpass Margaret Court’s record.

Djokovic’s Wimbledon campaign began with wins over Alexandre Muller, Dan Evans, and Miomir Kecmanovic before his victory over de Minaur in the fourth round. The Serb is determined to avenge his previous final losses and make history at SW19 this year.

As Djokovic continues his quest for another Wimbledon title, tennis fans around the world are eagerly awaiting to see if he can achieve his goals and cement his legacy as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
