Ian Ziering is facing legal troubles due to a street brawl that occurred on New Year’s Eve two years ago. He is being sued for assault and battery following a 2023 altercation with motorcyclists in Hollywood.
Jacob Hernandez, one of the bikers involved in the incident, has filed a civil complaint in Los Angeles accusing Ziering of intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, negligence, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

In his account of the incident, Hernandez claims that he and his friends were riding mini-motorbikes on Hollywood Blvd. when they stopped in front of Ziering’s Mercedes-Benz. Allegedly, Ziering got out of his car and forcefully shoved Hernandez, causing injuries to him and his vehicle.

Hernandez denies impeding traffic and asserts that Ziering’s aggressive behavior was unwarranted. Video evidence released by TMZ seems to support Hernandez’s claims of being shoved by Ziering.
Following the incident, Hernandez was arrested for felony vandalism in May 2024. He alleges that Ziering provided misleading information to the authorities and used his celebrity status to distort the narrative. Despite the arrest, charges were not pressed by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.
Hernandez claims that the altercation resulted in physical and mental harm, leading to significant mental health issues. He mentions experiencing anxiety, paranoia, sleep disturbances, and panic attacks triggered by sirens.
Hernandez is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for the incident. Attempts to reach Ziering’s representatives for comment have been unsuccessful so far.
