A truck driver apprehended in Oklahoma while possessing a commercial driver’s license from New York missing a first name has been revealed as an Indian migrant who entered the United States unlawfully in 2023.

ICE agents took Anmol Anmol into custody after he was pulled over by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol during a standard vehicle inspection on a truck scale alongside I-40 last month, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday.

During the stop, Anmol presented his authentic New York driver’s license, which notably indicated “No Name Given” in place of both his first and middle names.

The DHS stated that Anmol allegedly entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 and had been released into the country through the Biden administration’s policies.

Following his arrest, he was placed into removal proceedings.

According to The Post, the New York Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed that the license, issued on April 14 and expiring on May 26, 2028, was legitimate.

Anmol’s license was classified as “Class A,” permitting him to operate large vehicles in the U.S., and indicated his residence in Richmond Hill.

DHS officials criticized New York authorities for issuing commercial driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants.

“Allowing illegal immigrants to obtain CDLs for 18-wheelers and transport hazardous materials is a reckless endangerment to public safety,” stated DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin on Friday.

“Thanks to the effective 287g collaboration between ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Anmol Anmol is no longer a danger to other drivers,” added McLaughlin.

The patrol had been conducting enforcement activities along the significant highway, leading to the apprehension of 125 illegal immigrants over a three-day period.

“New York is not only neglecting to verify whether CDL applicants are U.S. citizens, but they are also failing to ascertain the complete legal names of those to whom they issue commercial driver’s licenses,” McLaughlin pointed out. “DHS is collaborating with state and local partners to remove illegal truck drivers who frequently lack fundamental traffic law knowledge from our highways.”

Oklahoma’s Republican Governor Kevin Stitt condemned New York officials for distributing commercial licenses such as Anmol’s.

“If New York wants to issue CDLs to undocumented immigrants with ‘No Name Given,’ that’s their decision,” Stitt stated on X. “Once they enter Oklahoma, they are subject to our laws.”

Stitt commended the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for their efforts in apprehending 125 illegal immigrants, emphasizing the importance of public safety.

“This is about keeping Oklahomans safe,” he asserted.

Amnol’s arrest comes on the heels of another incident where an illegal immigrant from India was charged with causing the deaths of three migrants after making an illegal U-turn while driving an 18-wheeler in Florida.

Harjinder Singh, who had been unlawfully residing in the U.S. since 2018, faced three counts of vehicular homicide for the fatal crash on April 12.

The deceased individuals were recognized as Haitian nationals Herby Dufresne, 30, Faniola Joseph, 27, and Rodrigue Dor, 53.
