Ryugo Takeuchi, the heavyweight MMA contender from Japan, is gearing up for a tough three-round battle at ONE Fight Night 40. Scheduled to take place on Friday, February 13, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Takeuchi will be up against American wrestling specialist Ben ‘Vanilla Thunder’ Tynan.

Known for his stand-up game and knockout power, Takeuchi is eager to showcase his striking skills against Tynan. In his previous fight, the 22-year-old fighter earned a $50,000 performance bonus for a quick 98-second victory over Kang Ji Won.

Anticipating a striker-versus-grappler matchup with Tynan, Takeuchi is wary of his opponent’s wrestling prowess and size advantage. Tynan, a former NCAA Division I wrestler, is known for his takedown abilities and prefers grappling exchanges over striking.

In a pre-fight interview with ONE Championship, Takeuchi acknowledged Tynan’s strengths but also highlighted his weaknesses. He noted Tynan’s reluctance to engage in striking exchanges, labeling it as a skill deficiency and a lack of mental toughness.

Despite coming from a judo background, Takeuchi has been focusing on improving his takedown defense to counter Tynan’s wrestling-heavy style. The Japanese fighter is seeking redemption after a first-round TKO loss in his previous bout against Shamil Erdogan at ONE 173.

As the fight approaches, Takeuchi remains confident in his abilities and is determined to outclass Tynan in the striking department. He believes that Tynan’s avoidance of striking exchanges is a sign of weakness and intends to exploit it during their matchup.

Fans can catch the action live on Prime Video for North American subscribers as ONE Fight Night 40 unfolds. Stay tuned for what promises to be an intense battle between two heavyweight contenders.

With the fight night drawing near, the excitement and anticipation are palpable as Takeuchi and Tynan prepare to step into the cage and settle their differences. As the countdown to the main event begins, MMA fans around the world eagerly await the clash between these two talented fighters.

In conclusion, Ryugo Takeuchi’s upcoming showdown with Ben Tynan is set to be a thrilling spectacle of skill, strength, and determination. Both fighters have their own strengths and weaknesses, but only one will emerge victorious in the end. It’s a battle of wills and techniques, and the outcome remains uncertain until the final bell rings. Stay tuned for all the action and drama as ONE Fight Night 40 unfolds in Lumpinee Stadium.
