Falcon Heene, the once-infamous “Balloon Boy,” has come a long way since the 2009 hoax that captivated the world. At just 6 years old, Falcon was unwittingly at the center of a bizarre stunt orchestrated by his parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, in a misguided attempt to gain reality show fame.

The Heenes fabricated a story about Falcon being trapped in a silver homemade helium-filled weather balloon floating thousands of feet above Colorado. The dramatic two-hour flight of the balloon was broadcast live on news channels, sparking fears for Falcon’s safety. In reality, Falcon was safe at home, hidden in the attic while the authorities scrambled to rescue him.

Following the hoax, the Heene family’s bid for stardom fell flat, but Falcon has now found success of his own. Today, he is a thriving entrepreneur, running Craftsman Tiny Homes in Archer, Florida. His Instagram account showcases his work building multi-bedroom tiny houses, which sell for prices ranging from $25,000 to $79,000.

In addition to his business ventures, Falcon is also a musician, performing in a metal band called the Heene Boyz with his brothers. Their music addresses the infamous hoax, with their first single titled “Balloon Boy, No Hoax.”

Despite the temporary fame the family gained from the stunt, it ultimately led to legal consequences for Richard and Mayumi Heene. Both parents pleaded guilty to a series of charges related to the hoax, including conspiracy to commit a crime and filing a false report with authorities. Richard served a 90-day jail sentence, while Mayumi received a 20-day sentence.

Falcon Heene’s journey from the center of a media frenzy to a successful entrepreneur and musician is a testament to his resilience and determination. While the “Balloon Boy” incident may have defined his early years, Falcon has since carved out a new path for himself, far removed from the notoriety of his past.
