An innocent Brooklyn restaurant worker was tragically left brain-dead after a disgruntled patron opened fire in a shocking drive-by shooting at the eatery early Monday morning. The incident took place at Room 1Hundred, a restaurant located on Jamaica Avenue near New Jersey Avenue in East New York. The 35-year-old worker was trying to close the gates of the restaurant just after midnight when the gunman fired multiple rounds from a black sedan, striking the victim in the back of the head.

Surveillance video obtained by The Post captures the moment when the worker collapses to the ground as the car speeds off onto Marginal Street East. The injured man was rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center in critical condition and was later declared brain-dead by medical authorities.

Prior to the shooting, the shooter had engaged in an argument inside the restaurant over the bill that escalated into a physical altercation. Despite being asked to leave, the man continued to cause a disturbance outside the restaurant before getting into his car and firing shots towards the dining establishment.

In addition to the worker, a parked unoccupied vehicle was also hit by the gunfire, and shell casings were recovered at the scene. The victim, who had no criminal history, was not involved in the initial altercation inside the restaurant. He was described as a hardworking and quiet individual by those who knew him.

Neighbors in the area expressed concern over the rising crime rates in the neighborhood, with one resident mentioning the prevalence of drug sales and gun violence. Despite this, overall felony crime in the NYPD’s 75th Precinct, which covers the area, has seen a slight decrease this year. Shootings have also decreased slightly compared to the same time last year.

The victim, originally from the Dominican Republic, was a beloved member of the community who frequented a local grocery store. His tragic fate has left residents shocked and saddened by the senseless act of violence that took place in their neighborhood. As authorities continue to investigate the incident, the community mourns the loss of a dedicated and hardworking individual.
