Ioan Gruffudd’s divorce saga with ex-wife Alice Evans has reached a new level of drama, with Evans accusing the Welsh actor of cozying up to his female attorney, Andrea Burkhart. In a recent court filing, Evans expressed concern over the close relationship between Gruffudd and Burkhart, alleging that they were making disparaging statements about her on social media.
Evans claimed that Burkhart had been “fraternizing” with Gruffudd, referring to her as “Malice” instead of her actual name in Twitter posts. She also revealed that Burkhart had made derogatory comments about her, including accusing her of committing domestic abuse and lying about her financial situation.
The ongoing legal battle between Gruffudd and Evans took a turn when Gruffudd accused Evans of violating a court restraining order by posting harassing and abusive messages about him and his fiancée, Bianca Wallace, on social media. While Evans admitted to posting mean messages in the past, she denied violating any court orders and insisted that her posts were general comments about her life and the divorce proceedings.
Evans, who shares two daughters with Gruffudd, requested a protective order ahead of her court-ordered deposition to ensure that the deposition focused on the remaining issues in the case and did not invade her privacy. Gruffudd argued that the protective order request was a delay tactic, but Evans maintained that she was not trying to dodge her deposition.
The bitter divorce battle between Gruffudd and Evans, who were married for 16 years before their split in 2023, continues to play out in court. Gruffudd agreed to temporary child and spousal support payments during a recent hearing, with a more permanent support arrangement expected to be finalized in February. The former couple’s legal drama shows no signs of slowing down, with both parties determined to protect their interests and secure a favorable outcome in the divorce proceedings.
