Vivienne Sayers O’Callaghan, originally from County Cork, Ireland, moved to Ridgewood, Queens in 2023 and started sharing videos on her TikTok page @vivienne_in_nyc about Irish language and culture, which quickly gained popularity among New Yorkers.

One of her most-viewed videos talked about the differences between walking down the street in Ireland and New York City, highlighting the friendliness and politeness of Irish people compared to the hustle and bustle of NYC.

Her video discussing beautiful female names in the Irish language, such as Laoise, Muireann, Róisín, and Órlaith, garnered millions of views across various social media platforms.

Her goal is to educate others about Ireland and its rich culture, especially the Irish language, which many people in the US were unaware of.

Thanks to her unique content, O’Callaghan gained a large following online and now works full-time as an Irish content creator and advocate, helping Irish companies and artists establish a presence in the US.

She continues to share informative videos about Irish inventions and St. Patrick’s Day traditions to engage and educate her audience.

Vivienne O’Callaghan, a TikTok influencer, has been educating her followers about Irish history and culture. She recently shared a post revealing that John Field was the first composer to call his pieces ‘Nocturnes,’ a genre that later influenced famous composers like Frédéric Chopin. Nocturnes are cherished for their expressive and lyrical qualities in classical music.

O’Callaghan’s engaging content extends to practical Irish language lessons, including how to say “f–k off” in Irish. She humorously explains that the Irish language lacks a direct translation for this phrase due to its ancient origins, instead offering colorful curses like “May the devil make a ladder out of your spine.”

Originally hailing from Ireland, O’Callaghan relocated to New York City through the Mountbatten Program, where she interned at Moody’s. She met her boyfriend, a Northport native and NYPD officer, in the city.
