Michael Pederson is an artist who finds inspiration in the everyday world around us. By blending elements of infrastructure, nature, and urban landscapes, Pederson creates whimsical miniature installations that capture the imagination. From tiny signs perched on weeds to miniature structures nestled in cracks in walls, his work invites viewers to see the world in a new light.

One of Pederson’s most notable pieces is “Mount Paltry,” a seven-centimeter-tall mountain that showcases the artist’s ability to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary works of art. Other installations, such as a treehouse in a weed growing out of a sidewalk or a tiny stage set in the base of a brick wall where cockroaches perform, highlight Pederson’s playful and imaginative approach to art.

Currently, Pederson’s work can be seen in the exhibition “Room for Wonder” at Groundseesaw in Seoul until June 4th. The show allows visitors to experience the artist’s unique perspective on the world and encourages them to find moments of wonder and delight in the seemingly mundane.

Through his miniature installations, Michael Pederson challenges us to look closer at the world around us and discover the beauty and magic that exists in unexpected places. His work serves as a reminder to embrace the unexpected and find joy in the everyday moments that surround us. If you’re in Seoul, don’t miss the opportunity to see Pederson’s enchanting creations in person at Groundseesaw.
