Jake Johnson has been cast alongside Tatiana Maslany in the highly anticipated dark comedy thriller series, “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” set to premiere on Apple TV+. Originally announced in February with Maslany in the lead role, the show follows a newly divorced mom who gets entangled in a web of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer.
In the series, Johnson will play the role of Karl, Paula’s ex-husband. Known for his portrayal of Nick Miller in the beloved Fox comedy series “New Girl,” Johnson has also made appearances in the critically acclaimed “Mythic Quest” episode “A Dark Quiet Death” for Apple. His recent TV credits include “History of the World Part II,” “Minx,” and the animated series “Hoops.” On the big screen, Johnson has lent his voice to the “Spider-Verse” franchise and starred in films like “Self Reliance,” “Ride the Eagle,” and “Win It All,” the latter of which he also wrote and directed.
Represented by UTA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman, Johnson’s talent and versatility have garnered him a loyal fan base. Apple has greenlit 10 episodes of “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” with David J. Rosen serving as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. David Gordon Green will direct and executive produce the series, which was developed by Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon under their first-look deal with Apple TV+. Bard Dorros will also executive produce for Anonymous Content, while Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios will handle production.
With a stellar cast and creative team behind the scenes, “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed” promises to be a must-watch series that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new project coming soon to Apple TV+.
