Influencer Jen Hamilton has announced her decision to take a break from her nursing career as she navigates her separation from her husband, Brian Hamilton.
In a vlog released on Monday, June 29, Jen, 37, shared, “I’m taking some time off of work, which is something that I never, ever wanted. My patients do not deserve the mental state that I would bring to the bedside right now. One moment, I’m OK. The next moment, I’m not OK.”
According to her website, Jen has been an ER and obstetrics nurse for over a decade, focusing on assisting mothers during childbirth.
“I don’t know when those moments [of not being OK] are and my patients deserve so much better than that,” she elaborated. “There is so much happening that is so complicated that I wish that I could share right now and I cannot. Just know that I am being a kickass mom, not just to my children but to myself.”
(Jen and Brian were married in 2012 and have two sons: Ellis and Luke.)
On June 15, Jen shared an emotional TikTok vlog announcing her separation from Brian.
“I’m feeling embarrassed and feeling exposed and feeling sad, feeling every single thing you probably possibly feel,” she told her followers. “My publicists say that I should make a statement ‘when I’m ready.’ There is no being ready. But there’s already been a bunch of articles about it, so I might as well just rip the Band-Aid off and put it out there in the wind.”
She later released a joint statement with Brian, confirming their separation.
“Yes, we are separating,” their statement read. “This comes with enormous pain for both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship. We are committed to loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”

The Hamiltons added, “We hope that our separate paths will create space and room for mental healing for each other. We are still committed to being a team. We even wrote this together (and without chatgpt). We want to make it clear. This wasn’t about falling out of love. That’s why this is so devastating. It was about recognizing that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone space to figure out complex things. And that’s exactly what we are doing.”
In a subsequent video, Jen assured her fans that she would be alright, likening the separation to the challenges of childbirth.
“It feels like labor,” she said in a video on June 20. “You’ll be OK for a minute and here comes a contraction! And another thing about this and labor is I don’t know when it’s going to end.”

The Birth Vibes author continued, “What’s bothering me right now — and I know it shouldn’t — is the instability of my emotions. I can wake up feeling fine, get things done, and feel accomplished, but then someone mentions something and I’m just a puddle on the floor.”
In her Monday vlog, Jen emphasized her ongoing support for Brian despite the end of their marriage.
“Even after everything that has happened, I have no animosity, no ill will. I want him to find himself,” she expressed. “I want him to be the best version of himself that he’s ever been. I’m going to be his biggest cheerleader as he is on that journey.”
Jen also committed to being her own biggest advocate, saying, “I’m going to model for my children what it means to have healthy relationships, healthy self-worth and allowing those we love the most to accept and embrace the gift that is accountability and consequence for the decisions we make in life.”
