On a pleasant evening in Los Angeles, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer hosted a small gathering of friends and family at her home in Brentwood to commemorate an impressive achievement—two decades of her brand. Attendees included Malin Åkerman, Jenna Dewan, Mark Guiducci, Erin and Sara Foster, Katharine McPhee Foster, Rachel Zoe, Kelly Sawyer, Tina Craig, Andrea Lieberman, Anita Ko, and Elizabeth Mathis—who all contributed to the evening’s intimate atmosphere, resembling more of a family gathering than a formal industry event.

“It feels surreal to say—20 years,” Meyer shared. “When I first began, I didn’t aim to create a brand. My sole desire was to craft something beautiful.”

This dedication has significantly shaped her journey. Since she launched her eponymous line in 2005, Meyer’s exquisite gold charms and diamond-embellished motifs have entered the lexicon of modern jewelry, worn by stars like Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Selena Gomez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and Meghan Markle among others. Meyer was a runner-up for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2012 and earned a nomination for the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessories Design in 2013.

This milestone follows one of the most challenging years in her professional life. In 2024, her Los Angeles boutique faced significant damage due to the Pacific Palisades fire—a devastating setback for a small business. “It was incredibly heartbreaking,” she recalled. “However, it was uplifting to witness how the community rallied together in such a remarkable way.”

In response to that hardship, Meyer launched the LA Necklace, a pendant adorned with diamonds shaped like the initials of the city—serving both as a homage to her hometown and a sign of resilience. “Los Angeles molded me,” she expressed. “This city is where my business took shape and where my family resides. Giving back felt like the only right course of action.” All net proceeds from the necklace were donated to Baby2Baby and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, aiding families and first responders impacted by the fires.

The guest list was a reflection of Meyer’s diverse life—including her sister, Sarah Meyer (the founder of Roe Caviar), her parents (including former NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer), her fiancĂ©, Geoffrey Ogunlesi, her children, and her ex-husband, Tobey Maguire—all uniting to celebrate. “I struggle with celebrating myself,” admitted Meyer. “This evening is truly dedicated to my team, friends, and all those who have supported me on this journey.”

As guests mingled over cocktails and canapĂ©s following the hectic pace of Fashion Month, Meyer shared insights into her future direction: a new ginkgo-leaf collection, designed to symbolize longevity. “It felt like the appropriate message,” she remarked. “After all that’s happened, I wanted to return to my roots—with a leaf. But this time, it’s a touch more refined, a tad more glittery.”

When asked what guidance she would offer to emerging designers, Meyer was quick to respond. “Be kind,” she kindly advised. “You never know when your paths might cross again. And breathe—everything tends to align as it should. Life is about embracing new beginnings, over and over again.”

As the evening progressed into night, the easygoing celebration embodied the essence of her brand—distinctly L.A., effortlessly elegant, and as enduring as the pieces she has created through the years.
