Exploring the Celestial Universe with Jenny Packham
Last season, Jenny Packham drew inspiration from the scorched sensuality of Georgia O’Keeffe’s art and personal style. However, for her latest collection, the British designer shifted her focus to the starry sky. Packham believes that much of science fiction is characterized by strong, boundary-breaking female characters, such as the women captains of Star Trek and the fierce Barbarella. She explains, “I’m fascinated by the escapism that culture seeks, especially in times when reality feels overwhelming. Science fiction has always projected women into a future of empowerment.”
The color palette for Packham’s fall collection evoked the beauty of the aurora borealis, with celestial silvers, soft pinks reminiscent of daybreak, deep blues, and dark onyx nights. Her signature silhouettes were elevated with refined details, including power shoulders, daring necklines, and sheer panels. One standout piece was a copper dress with sculpted shoulders, a high neck, and intricate beading that added depth and dimension to the design.
Packham played with color and texture in her collection, combining bronze embellishments with pale pink fabric to create a shimmering effect. Clusters of crystals and beads adorned the garments, adding a touch of sparkle and glamour. She also introduced daring sheer gowns accented with comet-like crystal trails, showcasing her ability to push boundaries while maintaining elegance.
While continuing to offer her signature satin dresses and bias-cut gowns, Packham also introduced new designs that cater to a younger clientele. These pieces, with their modern sensibility and attention to detail, are perfect for those who are confident in their style and unafraid to embrace the beauty of the night sky.
