Jesse Watters has expressed his opinion on the Pope’s political views, stating that they will not have any significant impact on the conservative agenda in the United States.
During an interview at LAX, Watters was asked about the potential influence of Pope Leo XIV‘s political beliefs on American politics, considering his past remarks about President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Watters emphasized that regardless of the Pope’s beliefs, American politicians will continue to pursue their own agendas without being swayed by external influences.
In Watters’ words, “The pope does his thing, and America does our thing, and it’s all good.”
Regarding Trump’s invitation to Pope Leo, delivered by Vance, Watters expressed skepticism about the likelihood of the Pope visiting the White House, as traditional protocol typically involves visiting the Vatican.
Vance recently met with the Pope at the Apostolic Palace, presenting him with gifts including an invitation to the White House, which Leo indicated he may accept in the future, along with a personalized Chicago Bears jersey.
Additionally, Watters was asked about the possibility of sharing a drink with CNN’s Jake Tapper, with his response captured in the accompanying video.
While Pope Leo XIV holds a prominent position in Vatican City, Watters believes that his influence does not extend to the political landscape of the United States.
