John Malkovich is set to join the star-studded cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming romantic comedy series “Prodigies” as a guest star. The series, created by Will Sharpe and starring Ayo Edebiri as Didi and Sharpe as Ren, follows the story of two ex-child prodigies navigating their ordinary lives in their early 30s. As they question whether their current reality lives up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood, they also begin to assess their relationship and the challenges that come with it.

While details about Malkovich’s character have not been revealed yet, it’s worth noting that this project reunites him with Edebiri, with whom he previously worked on the 2025 thriller film “Opus.” This will be Malkovich’s second series on Apple TV+, following his role as Lucien Lelong in “The New Look,” a biographical drama about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.

Joining Malkovich in the cast are Andrene Ward-Hammond, Yumi Asƍ, Tobias Menzies, Rina Sawayama, Sophia Di Martino, Reece Shearsmith, Nabhaan Rizwan, Meera Syal, and Lolly Adefope. Will Sharpe, in addition to creating and writing the series, will also serve as an executive producer alongside Edebiri, Jane Featherstone, Naomi de Pear, and Katie Carpenter through Sister.

“Prodigies” promises to challenge the traditional romantic storytelling narrative by showcasing that the tale is just beginning when the heroes come together. With a talented cast and an intriguing premise, this series is sure to captivate audiences when it premieres on Apple TV+.
