Punjab Kings’ player Josh Inglis showcased a brilliant display of batting prowess against Mumbai Indians’ ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2. Inglis took on Bumrah with aggressive intent, smashing him for 20 runs in a single over, featuring two sixes and two boundaries.

The onslaught by Inglis began in the fifth over of PBKS’ run chase. The Australian batter signaled his aggressive approach by hitting a boundary towards wide mid-wicket off Bumrah’s bowling. Inglis then launched a slower ball from Bumrah high over long-on for a maximum. He continued his assault by finishing the over with a four and a six towards square and deep third, respectively.

Josh Inglis has been a standout performer with the bat for Punjab in the IPL 2025 season, accumulating 201 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 158.27, with a top score of 73. The Punjab Kings acquired his services for INR 2.6 crore during the mega auction.

However, Inglis’ impressive knock came to an end when MI captain Hardik Pandya dismissed him against the run of play in the Qualifier 2. Inglis departed for 38 off 21 deliveries, caught behind by Jonny Bairstow, leaving PBKS in a tricky situation in their pursuit of a 200+ target. His innings included two sixes and five boundaries.

At the time of writing, Punjab Kings were 72/3 after eight overs, with skipper Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera at the crease. MI had posted a competitive total of 203/6 in their 20 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma contributing crucial runs.

Azmatullah Omarzai stood out with the ball for Punjab, claiming figures of 2/41, while other bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals. Fans can follow the live score and updates of the PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 match on the Sportskeeda website.
