Joshua Jackson Cast in HBO Max Drama Pilot “How to Survive Without Me”
Joshua Jackson has landed a role in the upcoming HBO Max drama pilot titled “How to Survive Without Me,” created by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran. The show follows the De Angelis family as they navigate life after the passing of their matriarch, Beverly. Despite her physical absence, Beverly continues to influence and guide her family from beyond the grave, urging them to stay connected and support each other through life’s challenges.
Jackson will portray Cooper, a talented chef in Los Angeles who is on the verge of opening a members-only dining club. While appearing confident and successful on the surface, Cooper harbors a secret that could jeopardize his relationships and career, which he has built in honor of his late mother’s culinary legacy.
Joining Jackson is Ray Romano, who plays Leo, a recent widower thrust into the role of single parent to his five adult children. As the family adjusts to life without their mother, Leo must find his voice and redefine his role within the family dynamic.
Best known for his roles in “Dawson’s Creek,” “Fringe,” and “Dr. Death,” Joshua Jackson is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and several other agencies.
The concept for “How to Survive Without Me” was developed by Berlanti, Doran, and Robbie Rogers, with Berlanti and Doran penning the script. The show is produced by Berlanti Productions in partnership with Warner Bros. Television, with Doran serving as an executive producer.
