Netflix has just unveiled the trailer for its upcoming limited series, “Sirens,” which features an impressive cast led by Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock.
The show revolves around three women spending Labor Day weekend at a beach estate. Fahy portrays Devon, who becomes concerned about her sister Simone’s (Alcock) close relationship with socialite Michaela Kell, played by Moore. As Devon tries to intervene, she quickly realizes the power and influence that Michaela holds over Simone. The trailer hints at Michaela, also known as Kiki, leading a group with cult-like tendencies that have ensnared Simone.
Joining the talented trio are Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, Josh Segarra, Felix Solis, Trevor Salter, Lauren Weedman, Britne Oldford, and Jenn Lyon.
The series was created by Molly Smith Metzler, known for her work on “Maid,” with Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Dani Gorin serving as executive producers under their production company, LuckyChap.
Adapted from Metzler’s play, “Elemeno Pea,” “Sirens” marks the writer’s first project under her overall deal with Netflix. The deal emphasizes socially conscious storytelling and opportunities for women on and off the screen. Metzler’s diverse portfolio includes writing credits on popular shows like “Orange Is the New Black” and “Shameless.”
Expressing her excitement about the collaboration, Metzler stated, “From day one, my collaboration with the entire Netflix team has been open, creative, and wildly supportive. I’m honored to call Netflix my home and very excited to keep this party going!”
Fans can mark their calendars for the series premiere on May 22, exclusively on Netflix. Don’t miss out on the intriguing story and stellar performances from this talented ensemble. Check out the trailer for a sneak peek into the thrilling world of “Sirens.”
