A former Coast Guard lieutenant and sharpshooter who identifies with Antifa has been detained for allegedly threatening to assassinate President Trump, as reported by CBS News.
CBS News detailed:
A former officer in the Coast Guard and skilled marksman has been arrested for purportedly making threats to kill President Trump.
The FBI’s 19-page affidavit outlines a multitude of alleged social media threats made by Peter Stinson, who dedicated 33 years to the U.S. Coast Guard until 2021 and also served as an instructor for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The posts referenced in the legal documents, spanning from 2020 to 2025, contain statements suggesting various methods of harm against Trump, including firearms, blades, and even poison. Notably, Stinson reportedly claimed a lack of personal skills for such an act, but expressed readiness to “serve in a support capacity” or to fund a “contract hit.”
Furthermore, within 48 hours following the 2024 assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Stinson allegedly posted: “Just three inches and today would be a different day,” while critiquing the shooter’s marksmanship.
According to an affidavit, Stinson shared his threats against Trump on social media platforms X and BlueSky from 2020 through 2025.
In an amusing twist of pseudonymity, Stinson employed a range of code names for Trump, including “the orange,” “orange mf,” “orange thug,” “Krasnov,” “tfg,” “one ear,” or simply the orange emoji.
