Donald Trump has made a public call for his attorney general to take action against his political adversaries, emphatically stating that any delay is damaging the nation’s reputation and credibility, according to RadarOnline.com.

Using his Truth Social platform on September 20, Trump addressed Attorney General Pam Bondi, urging her to take decisive steps toward prosecuting several of his longstanding opponents.

In his post, Trump exclaimed: “We can’t delay any longer… They impeached me twice, and indicted me five times—over nothing. Justice must be administered now!!!”

Trump argued, “I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers and legal pundits concur.”

This recent outburst is among a series of actions that critics assert threaten the traditional independence of the Justice Department. Furthermore, it underscores Trump’s ongoing political narrative of seeking retribution against those he perceives as having wronged him following his first term as president.

Highlighted individuals for potential prosecution include James Comey, the former FBI director; Senator Adam Schiff, a prominent Democrat; and New York Attorney General Letitia James, all of whom Trump has persistently targeted for alleged misconduct, without providing verifiable evidence.

When speaking to the press, Trump stated: “If they’re not guilty, that’s perfectly fine. But if they are guilty, or should face judgment, then they must be adjudicated, and this needs to occur posthaste.”

Trump asserted that any delays are “killing our reputation and credibility.”

In addition, Trump unveiled his intention to nominate Lindsey Halligan, a former personal attorney, to the position of U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. This role could endow her with considerable authority over investigations related to Trump’s political opponents.

Halligan’s nomination comes on the heels of Trump’s unexpected dismissal of Erik Siebert, who had been supervising an inquiry into Letitia James. Siebert was reportedly unable to find sufficient evidence to charge her with mortgage fraud. “I dismissed him, as there’s a GREAT CASE, affirmed by numerous lawyers and legal experts,” Trump stated.

James’s legal representatives have dismissed Trump’s claims, asserting that they are politically motivated attacks.

Trump has specifically focused on former FBI director James Comey, Senator Adam Schiff, and Attorney General Letitia James.

Halligan, whose background is in insurance law, has never held a prosecutorial position. However, she previously represented Trump during the FBI’s probe into his management of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and was also recently assigned to review Smithsonian museum materials for compliance with Trump’s policies.

Should Halligan be appointed, it would place a staunch Trump ally in a pivotal role within an office that is already navigating substantial political pressure. On social media, Trump supported her nomination, stating, “She will be fair, knowledgeable, and deliver the urgently needed, JUSTICE FOR ALL.”

It remains uncertain whether Halligan would assume her role temporarily or if she will be subject to Senate confirmation.

Trump plans to designate Lindsey Halligan, his former personal legal representative, as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Trump’s ongoing grievances with James, Schiff, and Comey have historical roots in notable confrontations: James has pursued a civil fraud case against Trump’s extensive business empire; Schiff led the prosecution during Trump’s inaugural impeachment trial; and Comey was at the helm of the FBI’s Russia investigation before Trump terminated him in 2017.

Notably, in 2023, Trump faced multiple criminal charges, including allegations surrounding efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, hush money payments linked to purported affairs, and the mishandling of classified materials. He was found guilty of 34 felonies in the hush money case, while investigations concerning election interference and classified documents were ultimately halted following his reelection last year.
