Harris Expresses Deep Regret
Trump decisively defeated Harris, winning all contested states.
Reflecting on her feelings during election night, Harris appeared almost in tears while discussing the toll it took on her.
She recounted, “That night, I grieved in a way I haven’t since my mother’s passing,” referring to her late mother, Shyamala Harris, who died in February 2009.
The former Vice President emphasized that her sorrow was less about personal loss and more about the future consequences of a second Trump administration. “The hurt was not simply about losing a race. I foresaw what this would mean for our nation,” she shared, adding, “All I could repeat was, ‘My God, my God, my God.’

During her discussion, Harris revisited her troubled appearance on The View in October 2024. When asked how she would distinguish her presidency from that of President Biden, she infamously responded, “Not much comes to mind.”
She explained that her loyalty to Biden may have clouded her judgment in understanding what the audience wanted to hear. “I thought it was self-evident,” Harris said. “I didn’t grasp how critical it was for people to see a distinction.”
Reflecting on the fallout, Harris acknowledged, “I now realize I underestimated how significant that moment was for voter perception.”

Misjudging Biden’s Approval Ratings
Harris confessed that her The View appearance negatively affected her campaign.
Panelist Sunny Hostin, who was involved in that infamous interview, reiterated how unexpected Biden’s low approval ratings had been for everyone, including her. She quoted Harris from her book, mentioning, “Everything about my appearance on The View was fine until it wasn’t.”
Harris further confessed to unleashing a “hand grenade” with her remarks and denied that her statements had tipped the election in Trump’s favor despite their devastating consequences.

Critics questioned Harris for failing to grasp the significance of her comments during the 2024 interview.
Viewers expressed disbelief that Harris did not recognize the impact of her October 2024 remarks about Biden. In the comment section of the interview clip on X, one commenter remarked, “How could she not see an issue as apparent as that?”
Another user questioned, “Is it really possible to spend $1 billion on a campaign and not realize the candidate needed to distance herself from an obviously unpopular president?” Others leapt to her defense, stating, “She wasn’t running against Biden but Trump; it’s not about criticizing the administration she served in.”
