There is a growing concern about the Trump administration’s connection to reality. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had not held a press briefing in two weeks. When she addressed reporters on Wednesday, it was not without issues.

Leavitt faced questions about Trump’s alleged negotiations with Iran, but she was unable to provide an answer.
The Press Secretary stated:
I’m not going to get into the details of these negotiations and conversations that continue to take place.
You can imagine they are very sensitive, diplomatic discussions. I recall giving all of you the same answer during the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Gaza, throughout the 12-day war between Iran and Israel, and regarding many other global conflicts this administration has addressed.
President Trump is allowing his diplomats the freedom they need for these sensitive discussions without negotiating and litigating them through the news media.

There is a growing likelihood that these negotiations are either not genuine or that the Trump administration is negotiating with parties unable to end the conflict.
Leavitt also addressed voters who returned to Trump in 2024, offering a message that was less than beneficial for Republicans in 2026.
