Kelly Clarkson was visibly emotional during one of her final performances before the tragic death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. In a heartfelt video from her Las Vegas residency show on July 26, the 43-year-old singer wiped away tears as she introduced her song “Piece by Piece.”

“This next song, I’ve never rewritten a song more,” Clarkson shared with the audience. “And I probably never will. I wrote this song with a lot of hope, OK? And projection for happiness and [something] better than what was happening. And then, well, life set in and I had to change the lyrics.”

Reflecting on a previous performance two years ago, Clarkson mentioned that she felt her revised lyrics sounded a bit angry. She expressed her desire for the song to authentically reflect her current life, hinting at personal growth and therapy.

As she spoke about the song, Clarkson became overwhelmed with emotion. She candidly admitted to the crowd, “I’m really trying to pull it together,” as they cheered and chanted her name. Stepping away from the mic to compose herself, she then bravely continued, “Anyway, let’s just sing it. This is ‘Piece by Piece.'”

The song “Piece by Piece” is from Clarkson’s seventh album of the same name, released in 2015. The lyrics were inspired by her relationship with Blackstock and her own experiences, including her estrangement from her father.

Clarkson and Blackstock, who tied the knot in 2013, share two children together, daughter River and son Remington. The couple filed for divorce in 2020, finalizing the process in 2022 after a lengthy legal battle.

Following Blackstock’s untimely death at the age of 48, Clarkson announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency for the month, citing the need to be present for her children during this difficult time. Blackstock had been privately battling cancer for over three years before his passing.

The music manager is survived by his father, Narvel Blackstock, and siblings, including Shelby Blackstock. Clarkson has yet to publicly address Brandon’s death, but a source revealed that coping with his cancer battle was emotionally draining and devastating for her.

Throughout this challenging period, Clarkson prioritized her children and family, making significant adjustments to her schedule to support them during Blackstock’s illness. Despite her work ethic and dedication to her career, she faced the difficult reality of balancing personal challenges with professional responsibilities.

As Clarkson navigates this heartbreaking loss, her fans and supporters continue to offer their thoughts and prayers. The singer’s strength and vulnerability on stage serve as a reminder of the power of music to express and heal deep emotional wounds. Title: The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health

In today’s digital age, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. From scrolling through Instagram to tweeting on Twitter, we are constantly connected to the online world. While social media has its advantages in terms of communication and networking, it also has a significant impact on our mental health.

One of the main ways in which social media affects our mental health is through comparison. When we scroll through our feeds and see our friends posting about their glamorous vacations, happy relationships, or successful careers, it can trigger feelings of inadequacy and jealousy. This phenomenon, known as “social comparison theory,” can lead to a decrease in self-esteem and an increase in feelings of depression and anxiety.

Moreover, social media can also contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation. While it may seem like we are connected to hundreds or even thousands of people online, studies have shown that excessive social media use can actually lead to feelings of social isolation. This is because online interactions lack the depth and intimacy of face-to-face interactions, leaving us feeling disconnected from others.

In addition, social media can also have a negative impact on our sleep patterns. The blue light emitted by screens can disrupt our circadian rhythms, making it difficult to fall asleep at night. Furthermore, the constant stream of information and notifications can cause us to constantly check our phones, leading to poor sleep quality and increased levels of stress.

Another way in which social media affects our mental health is through cyberbullying. With the anonymity that social media provides, individuals may feel emboldened to engage in hurtful behavior towards others online. This can have devastating effects on the mental health of the victim, leading to feelings of depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts.

Despite these negative impacts, there are ways to mitigate the effects of social media on our mental health. Limiting our time spent on social media, unfollowing accounts that trigger negative emotions, and engaging in meaningful face-to-face interactions are all effective strategies for maintaining our mental well-being in the digital age.

In conclusion, while social media has revolutionized the way we communicate and connect with others, it also has a significant impact on our mental health. By being mindful of our online behaviors and taking steps to prioritize our mental well-being, we can navigate the digital landscape in a healthier and more balanced way.
