Kevin Garnett and his girlfriend found themselves in a heated argument late last month, prompting a visit from law enforcement. However, both parties have since clarified that the situation did not escalate into a physical altercation.
Sources reveal that Garnett’s partner, Teare Candelier, called 911 just before 2 AM on April 27 to report a domestic dispute at their residence in the Los Angeles area.
Although Garnett had left by the time officers arrived, a report was still filed. Candelier declined medical assistance when offered by the authorities.
Insiders familiar with the incident state that Garnett attempted to leave the premises to de-escalate the situation, gently moving Candelier out of a doorway. However, no physical altercations occurred beyond that point.
Both Garnett and Candelier expressed regret over involving law enforcement in their personal disagreement. In a joint statement, they acknowledged that the matter should have remained private and apologized for the unnecessary escalation.
“We deeply regret that a personal disagreement escalated and inappropriately involved authorities,” Garnett and Candelier emphasized. “Our commitment to each other remains strong, and we are moving forward with renewed respect, understanding, and love.”
“Like most couples,” they added, “we have disagreements, but our bond is unbreakable as we continue to navigate through challenges with mutual love and support.”
Known as one of the NBA’s all-time greats, Kevin Garnett boasts an impressive career with 15 All-Star selections and four All-NBA First-Team honors. Since retiring from basketball, he has ventured into sports commentary, notably hosting his podcast, “KG: Certified.”
