Donut lovers, rejoice!

Krispy Kreme has come to the rescue with a sweet treat for all customers during Verizon’s nationwide network outage on Wednesday afternoon.

“SOS got you down? We can hear you now — and we’re serving up,” the popular donut company announced on Instagram.

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Krispy Kreme will be offering one free original glazed donut to each customer as a “sweet backup plan you can rely on.”

Many fans online have praised Krispy Kreme’s marketing move as a stroke of genius, aligning perfectly with the nationwide Verizon network outage that left thousands of users offline.

The outage affected key cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, DC, starting around 9 a.m. EST and spreading across the country.

Customers reported issues like signal loss, dropped calls, and data connection failures, according to Downdetector.

Verizon acknowledged the problem and mentioned that their engineers were working to resolve it swiftly, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Verizon had not disclosed the cause or estimated time for full service restoration, with reports indicating some service returning while others were still waiting.

T-Mobile, Verizon’s competitor, took the opportunity to mock the network’s meltdown, affirming their own network’s stability and suggesting that customers might face difficulty reaching Verizon users.

“T-Mobile’s network is operating normally, but due to Verizon’s reported outage, our customers may experience difficulties reaching Verizon users at this time,” the company stated on X.
