Lady Gaga Adds to Her Awards Collection with Sports Emmy Win
Lady Gaga has added another prestigious award to her collection, as she recently won a Sports Emmy for her Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand.” The talented singer was nominated in the outstanding music direction category and emerged victorious over tough competition such as “Evolution of the Black Quarterback,” “The Lionheart,” “Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time,” and “The Turnaround.”
This latest win brings Lady Gaga one step closer to achieving EGOT status, as she already possesses an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and now an Emmy. To complete the EGOT, she would need to win a Tony Award.
Lady Gaga’s performance of the “Top Gun: Maverick” anthem on Bourbon Street in New Orleans was a heartfelt tribute to the victims of a recent tragic event that claimed the lives of 14 people. Accompanied by a full band and choir, Gaga played the piano and delivered an emotional rendition of the song. The tribute was attended by Louisiana State Police troopers, New Orleans police officers, first responders, and law enforcement officials. NFL star Tom Brady and former player Michael Strahan also made appearances during the tribute.
“Hold My Hand” was prominently featured in the emotional ending of the blockbuster film “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022. The song received nominations for a Grammy and a Golden Globe.
Lady Gaga recently wrapped up a successful two-night performance at Singapore’s National Stadium as part of her Mayhem Ball Tour. She is set to kick off the U.S. leg of the tour in July. Additionally, Gaga has announced her participation in Netflix’s Tudum 2025: The Live Event.
Fans can also look forward to seeing Lady Gaga in the upcoming second season of the popular series “Wednesday.” While details about her role are still kept under wraps, sources have hinted that it will be a cameo appearance. The show is scheduled to return on Aug. 6 with Part 1, followed by Part 2 on Sept. 3.
