Apple TV+ is preparing to launch Season 3 of its popular sci-fi series “Foundation” on Friday, July 11. The show will feature returning stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, and Lou Llobell, alongside new additions like Troy Kotsur, Cherry Jones, and Brandon P. Bell. The story picks up 152 years after the events of Season 2, with the Foundation growing in power while the Cleonic Dynasty’s Empire weakens. An uneasy alliance is formed between the two powers as they face a new threat in the form of a warlord known as “The Mule.”

Produced by Skydance Television, “Foundation” has a talented team of executive producers including David S. Goyer, Bill Bost, and David Ellison. The official teaser for Season 3 has been released, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming episodes.

In other TV news, “The Chi” Season 7 has announced guest stars Kyla Pratt, Punkie Johnson, Reagan Gomez, and Tammy Townsend. They will join the cast in various roles, adding to the diverse and dynamic characters in the South Side of Chicago-based show. “The Chi” is set to premiere on Paramount+ before its on-air debut on Sunday, May 18.

Executive news sees Jenny Daly taking on the role of president at A. Smith & Co. Productions, where she will work alongside chairman and CEO Arthur Smith. Daly brings her experience as an executive producer on the Emmy-nominated series “Ginny & Georgia” to her new position. Prior to this role, Daly was the founder of T Group Productions, known for producing popular series like “Very Cavallari” and “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.”

In another executive move, David Siegel has been appointed as the CEO of JLA, a nonprofit organization focused on serving neurodiverse young adults. Siegel brings experience from his time at Exceptional Minds and Disney, where he helped grow enrollment and partnerships with major media and tech companies.

SeriesFest has also announced the winners of this year’s Independent Pilot Competition, with selected pilots receiving $25,000 to support post-production efforts. The festival continues to be a platform for independent storytellers, showcasing the best in drama, comedy, unscripted, and digital short series. Winners include “Lake Boga” for drama, “Settle Down” for comedy, and “Vs. Goliath” for unscripted content. Audience award winners include “The Rebel Girls” and “BULLDOZER” in drama and comedy categories, respectively.
