Denver commuters using the city’s Regional Transportation District’s E and R Lines should anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes due to lightning strikes in the vicinity, as reported on RTD’s alert page.

An RTD spokesperson clarified that the lightning did not hit anything directly.

However, maintenance work at County Line Station had to be halted because of the severe weather conditions.

Although trains are still operating, manual short-turns are being implemented at Southmoor and Lincoln stations, leading to delays.

The delays will remain in effect until further notice, according to the alert.

The E Line connects Union Station to RidgeGate Parkway Station, while the R Line runs between Lincoln Station and Peoria Station, as detailed on RTD’s website.
