Lindsay Hubbard made a pointed comment about her former fiancé, Carl Radke, while discussing him with Summer House season 10 newcomer, Bailey Taylor.
During the Tuesday, March 17, episode of the Bravo show, Carl, 41, recounted to his housemates that he had spent time with Bailey, 30, earlier that week in the city. He noted, “It wasn’t a date, but it kinda felt like a date.”
Carl shared that Bailey informed him Lindsay, 39, had mixed remarks about him before they met. He quoted Lindsay as telling Bailey, “Go for it.” Since Bailey wasn’t present in the Hamptons that weekend, she couldn’t confirm what transpired between her and Lindsay beforehand.
Lindsay clarified to the group, saying she told Bailey, “You should go for Carl,” and jokingly added, “See, I’m nice.”
Carl, however, claimed that Lindsay also gave him “two thumbs down” but still encouraged Bailey to pursue him if she wished.
Lindsay explained, “She paraphrased that,” adding, “I said, ‘He probably won’t have sex with you but he’s a great conversationalist.’”
The revelation left the group surprised, with cast member Amanda Batula commenting, “You were so close to being nice.”
While Carl didn’t pursue the matter further within the group, he later shared with the cameras that Lindsay’s comment related to the decline in their sex life before their breakup.
“Lindsay and I weren’t sleeping together [toward the end] because of how not stable [the] foundation [was that] we were on,” Carl stated in a confessional.
Carl also alleged, “But when we first started dating and having sex, she used to say it was the best sex of her life.”
He added, “Before that I used to get destroyed for being a f***boy, having too much sex. Now I’m being a little more careful and I get dragged for that? Can’t win.”
Since Summer House premiered in January 2017, fans have been intrigued by the friendship between Lindsay and Carl. They attempted to date during the fourth season but concluded they were better off as friends.
In fall 2021, Lindsay and Carl rekindled their romance, with Carl telling Us Weekly in January 2022, “I’ve never felt more myself around someone than her. And for me, that’s powerful.”
Carl proposed to Lindsay in August 2022, a moment captured during the seventh season of the Bravo series. However, a year later, in August 2023, he called off the engagement as they were planning their wedding.
Although Lindsay claimed to be “blindsided” by the breakup, both she and Carl continue to be part of Summer House. They were even housemates when Lindsay was expecting a child with Turner Kufe in summer 2024. Lindsay welcomed her daughter, Gemma, in December of that year.
Summer House airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
