Newell’s Old Boys, Lionel Messi’s boyhood club in Argentina, made headlines recently for suspending six youth players for taking a picture with a player from rival club Rosario Central. This move by the club has taken the intense rivalry between the two clubs to a whole new level.

According to reports from Ole, the six boys, who are part of the youth teams at Newell’s, were suspended for three months and had their scholarships to the club school revoked for taking a picture with Rosario Central’s Ignacio Malcorra. The Clasico Rosarino between Newell’s and Rosario Central is one of the most heated rivalries in Argentine soccer, and the clubs have a long history of animosity towards each other.

The photo was taken at the request of some parents of the children, who then shared it via WhatsApp before the club found out about it. The kids involved in the incident attend Escuela de Fútbol Infantil Malvinas Argentinas, the same school where Messi and Argentina’s World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni honed their skills.

Carlos Panciroli, a former club captain and director of the school, defended the club’s decision to suspend the players, stating that it was done in agreement with the parents. He emphasized the importance of respecting the club’s crest and jersey, saying that the suspension was a necessary measure to prevent similar incidents in the future.

While the decision to suspend the players may seem harsh, it underscores the deep-seated rivalry between Newell’s Old Boys and Rosario Central. In Argentina, soccer is more than just a sport – it’s a way of life, and the club rivalries reflect the passion and intensity that fans and players alike bring to the game. This incident serves as a reminder of the unwavering loyalty and allegiance that fans have for their clubs, and the lengths to which clubs will go to protect their honor and tradition. The global pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to communities around the world. From health concerns to economic struggles, there is no doubt that the COVID-19 crisis has had a profound impact on every aspect of society. As we navigate through these difficult times, it is more important than ever to come together and support one another.

One of the most significant challenges of the pandemic has been the strain it has placed on healthcare systems worldwide. Hospitals and healthcare workers have been stretched thin as they work around the clock to treat patients and slow the spread of the virus. The need for personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies has skyrocketed, leading to shortages in many regions. Despite these challenges, healthcare workers have continued to show incredible dedication and resilience in the face of adversity.

In addition to the strain on healthcare systems, the pandemic has also had a devastating impact on the global economy. Businesses of all sizes have been forced to close their doors, leading to widespread job losses and financial hardship for millions of people. Governments around the world have implemented stimulus packages and relief programs to help alleviate some of the economic burden, but the road to recovery will be long and challenging.

As we continue to navigate through these difficult times, it is crucial that we come together as a global community to support one another. Whether it is through acts of kindness, donations to local food banks, or volunteering our time to help those in need, there are countless ways we can make a positive impact during this crisis. By coming together and supporting one another, we can emerge from this pandemic stronger and more resilient than ever before.

In the face of adversity, it is important to remember that we are all in this together. By supporting one another and showing compassion and empathy, we can overcome the challenges of the pandemic and build a brighter future for all. Together, we can weather this storm and emerge stronger on the other side.
