A Beloved Teacher and Coach Mourned
A Long Island community is grieving the loss of Adrian Gilmore, a dedicated sixth-grade teacher at Albert G. Prodell Middle School in Shoreham and the varsity soccer coach for Shoreham-Wading River High School. Gilmore tragically passed away two days after experiencing a traumatic medical emergency in front of students.
Superintendent Gerald Poole described Gilmore as an exceptional educator, coach, mentor, and inspiration to many in the SWR community. Her sudden death has left a profound impact on her colleagues, students, and families.

While authorities have not disclosed the cause of Gilmore’s death, a GoFundMe page has been set up to support her family during this difficult time. She leaves behind her husband Tim and their three children.
Gilmore was not only a successful soccer coach, leading the Shoreham Wildcats to a state championship in 2019, but also a respected mentor and advocate for children both on and off the field. Her legacy as a teacher, coach, and community leader will be deeply missed.
