Braden Peters, also known by his online alias Clavicular, ended his interview with “60 Minutes Australia” correspondent Adam Hegarty abruptly after being questioned about his connection to the incel community.
“Do I identify as an incel?” Peters responded. “How could you follow up a question about my relationships with women by asking that? It’s honestly the worst sequence of questions I’ve ever encountered.”
Hegarty continued, “Let me rephrase. Since ‘looksmaxxing’ is a term originating from the incel community, how do you feel about being associated with that group?”
“I’m not associated with that group at all,” Peters stated. “Looksmaxxing is about self-improvement, aiming to rise beyond that category. One of the objectives is to distance oneself from being labeled an incel and to overcome it. So, it doesn’t make sense to link me to them.”
Hegarty then shifted focus to Peters’ interactions with the controversial “manosphere” influencer Andrew Tate, who faces charges of rape, assault, and human trafficking in the U.K. He asked, “Why do you associate with individuals like that?”
“I see you want to politicize this,” Peters replied. “It’s unfortunate I didn’t have time to investigate who your wife may have been unfaithful with, but don’t pursue that line of questioning with me.”
Hegarty clarified, “I’m not married.” Peters then concluded the conversation and left, saying, “I could teach you about looksmaxxing, and perhaps you could change that. Thanks for the time, appreciate the interview.”
