‘Love Island’ contestant Cashel Barnett has agreed to a plea deal in his domestic violence case, which could result in him serving a year behind bars.
Legal documents reveal that Cashel will plead guilty to one count of third-degree felony aggravated assault and one count of third-degree felony domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Cashel’s sentencing is scheduled for March 16 in a Utah court, with prosecutors seeking a year in jail followed by probation.
Last year, Cashel faced multiple charges in Utah after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of their 1-year-old daughter.
Cashel has been in custody since at least May.
Despite the alleged victim feeling the plea deal was unfair, she agreed to it to avoid a trial and further trauma.
Cashel gained fame from his appearance on ‘Love Island’ in 2019 and later on “The Challenge: USA” in 2022.
