Man Arrested for Brandishing Massive Bong in Oregon Grocery Store Parking Lot
Authorities in Oregon were called to a grocery store parking lot after receiving reports of a man waving what appeared to be a rifle and threatening people. Upon arrival, police discovered that the “weapon” in question was actually a large bong shaped like a semi-automatic rifle.
The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jacob John Daniels, was reportedly stalking the parking lot of Albertson’s and Bimart Membership Discount Stores, making threats and gesturing with the bong. Concerned citizens alerted the authorities, prompting a swift response from the Eugene Police Department.
Police officers, along with the Drone Team and a Bearcat armored vehicle, descended on the scene, while residents were advised to shelter in place and motorists were urged to avoid the area. The situation escalated as Daniels refused to comply with commands to drop the bong.
After a tense standoff, officers used a “sponge round” to subdue Daniels without causing serious harm. He was then taken into custody, and the bong was confiscated as evidence. It was later revealed that Daniels had orchestrated the incident as a suicide attempt, hoping to provoke a deadly confrontation with law enforcement.
Despite his intentions, Daniels was charged with disorderly conduct and is now facing legal consequences for his actions. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by individuals struggling with mental health issues and the importance of seeking help in times of crisis.
