In 2024, some voters were misled as the media portrayed Joe Biden as lacking the physical and mental capacity to serve as president. Meanwhile, Republicans promoted the image of Trump as a dynamic and energetic leader poised to revitalize the US economy and lower costs.

Now, less than a year and a half later, the public recognizes they have chosen a president perceived as corrupt and dishonest, who is known to fall asleep during Oval Office meetings.

Trump, along with the corporate media, seems to underestimate the public’s awareness, yet an increasing number of Americans are noticing his decline.

The latest Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll indicates:

An increasing number of Americans question Trump’s mental fitness for the role. Nearly 59 percent believe he lacks the necessary mental sharpness, and 55 percent feel his physical health is insufficient for effective service. These perceptions are slightly more negative than in February and significantly more negative compared to last September.

While the media had no qualms about scrutinizing Biden’s competence, they remain silent on similar issues concerning Trump.

Moreover, the poll suggests that Trump’s decline is not an isolated issue, and replacing him with another administration figure would not resolve the underlying problems.
