WASHINGTON — A significant health care policy included in last year’s tax cut law has become a point of contention between Democrats and Republicans.
Democrats argue that the Medicaid work requirements introduced by the law will lead to bureaucratic obstacles, causing individuals to lose their coverage. In contrast, Republicans believe the policy promotes employment.
However, as the law does not mandate states to report on the implementation of these extensive changes to Medicaid, obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the policy’s effectiveness may prove challenging.
