A man in Queens was abducted outside his home and found with a slash on his head, along with a loaded gun in his possession, leading to criminal charges. Jhann Lara, 24, was held up at gunpoint by three men outside his Woodside residence at 70th Street and Queens Boulevard. He was then forced into a black BMW and taken down Queens Boulevard.
Later, Lara was discovered about three miles away on Woodward Avenue in Ridgewood with a slash to the back of his head. Despite his injuries, he was in stable condition. The motives behind the abduction remain unclear, and it is unknown if Lara had any prior connection to the kidnappers.
Interestingly, Lara was the only one arrested in this incident. Security camera footage at his residence revealed that he had left a bag containing a loaded handgun at the doorman’s desk before being abducted. This led to his arrest and charges of criminal possession of a firearm, among others.
When questioned by the police about his occupation, Lara stated that he is in the jewelry business. This recent incident is not his first encounter with law enforcement. In March, he was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, along with other offenses, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The case highlights the complexities surrounding Lara’s situation, from the abduction and assault to the discovery of the loaded gun in his possession. Despite the circumstances, the investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of Lara’s involvement and the events leading up to his abduction.
