Tragedy struck early Friday morning in the Bronx as a 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the back of the head in what appeared to be a targeted attack inside a NYCHA building. The incident took place at around 6:35 a.m. at the Forest Houses NYCHA building on East 165th Street near Tinton Avenue in Morrisania, leaving the victim in critical condition. Despite being rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, the man succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.

Reports suggest that the victim had a prior “interaction” with two suspects before the fatal shooting, indicating that the attack was not random. The suspects, described as two males dressed in all black with hoods, one of whom wore a backpack, were last seen fleeing the scene. Despite efforts by law enforcement, both suspects remained at large by Friday afternoon.
