A newlywed man tragically lost his life in Florida after being struck by lightning on his honeymoon, authorities reported over the weekend.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders who administered CPR, the man, identified as 29-year-old Rosencranz, remained unresponsive and ultimately succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital. This incident marked the first lightning strike fatality in Florida for the season. Karla Orozco, the operations manager at the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office, confirmed the details of Rosencranz’s case and expressed her condolences to his grieving wife. She emphasized the untimely loss of a young life and the potential future milestones that were abruptly cut short.

On the same fateful day, two individuals playing golf at the Venetian Bay Golf Course also experienced the indirect effects of a lightning strike. Fortunately, they were evaluated at the scene and opted not to be transported to a medical facility for further treatment.

The community of Volusia County mourns the loss of Rosencranz and extends heartfelt sympathies to his wife during this difficult time. The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable and deadly nature of lightning strikes, highlighting the importance of safety measures during outdoor activities.
