Man Shot Multiple Times Near Morse Red Line Station in Rogers Park
CHICAGO — A man was shot multiple times when an argument turned physical near the Morse Red Line station on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said. He’s the 32nd person shot in Rogers Park this year.
According to CPD, the 37-year-old engaged in an argument with another man in the 1400 block of West Morse around 4:50 p.m. The altercation escalated, turned physical, and culminated in the second man pulling out a gun and shooting the victim multiple times.
Emergency services transported the victim to St. Francis Hospital in fair condition.
The gunman, described as a Black or Hispanic male, fled the scene. He was reported to be wearing a black Nike hoodie, a black North Face cap, and ripped black jeans, possibly with a thin mustache and a small goatee.
With this incident, the total number of shooting victims in Rogers Park this year has reached 32. In comparison, there were 31 people shot in the neighborhood last year, with one being an accidental self-inflicted injury. Additionally, officials identified four of the 31 shooting incidents in 2022 as self-defense cases. In 2021, Rogers Park recorded 24 shooting victims.
