Man Shot in West Loop, Recovering in Hospital
A 25-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the West Loop late Sunday night, according to Chicago police.
At about 10:38 p.m., officers responding to a report of a person shot in the 200 block of North Peoria Street found the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound below his right knee.
The police applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg before Chicago Fire Department paramedics arrived. CFD took the man to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.
While the man was found in front of PB&J, a restaurant and bar on North Peoria Street, investigators believe the shooting occurred across the street. A witness told investigators the shooter fled the scene in a dark gray Jeep. So far, police have not released a description of the gunman.
